Every January, millions of us make resolutions for the new year that we hope will result in better health, better habits, a better attitude or a bucket-list item marked complete.
Often, despite our best intentions, our resolve to do better doesn't make it past the first week or month. Change is hard, no matter how much we want it.
In this issue, we hear from President and CEO Steve Davis, MD, on his first year leading Cincinnati Children's. He has some big aspirations for the organization and how we can improve kids' health and increase our impact in the field of pediatric medicine.
You can also read about Primary Care and the strategic plan they're developing that promises a more integrated approach to the patient and staff experience.
On a personal level, see how Scarlett Ripberger in Critical Care Medicine is participating in a free employee benefit to help her eat healthy and get fit.
And you won't want to miss the story of Jamie Benassi's passion for hockey that has helped her push the boundaries of her diagnosis.
Maybe we can learn how to be the best at getting better in our own lives by remembering we don't have to do it alone. Help is within reach if we just have the courage and humility to ask for it.
