It's appropriate that, as we step into 2022, many of our stories focus on new beginnings.

In these pages, you'll read about Nourah, a 16-year-old patient who is experiencing life for the first time without the need for oxygen support, thanks to a double lung transplant performed here at Cincinnati Children's.

You'll also see how we have re-examined the diversity of our Family Advisory Council and proactively recruited new members so that the council is more reflective of the patients and families we serve.

Then, learn more about our collaboration with the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, which aims to use big data to help clinicians, researchers and scientists improve precision medicine, discover treatments, and deliver the best possible healthcare.

Get a fresh perspective on Cincinnati Children's movers and shakers with the first in a series of leadership profiles. We kick things off with Stella Davies, MBBS, PhD, MRCP, director of Bone Marrow Transplantation and Immune Deficiency, and co-executive director of the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute.

Plus, take a look at the present-day artifacts we'll be burying in a new time capsule to be opened for the B.K. Rachford Department of Pediatrics bicentennial in 2121.
