January is a month for new beginnings and fresh starts. It's also a time to continue the good work we are doing and to reap the rewards of those efforts.
2021 is the year when we will see the completion and opening of our long-awaited Critical Care Building. In this issue, you'll read about the tremendous amount of collaboration that has gone into designing and building a facility centered around the needs of patients and families.
Speaking of collaboration, check out "Examining the Life of a Swab" to see how many staff members contribute to keeping our community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
You can also read three seasoned nurse practitioners' perspectives on how healthcare is changing and what they are doing to adapt.
These and the rest of the stories in this issue are a reminder and a reassurance of our resilience in the face of adversity. How fortunate we are to work in an industry where innovation and hope are the primary currency.
